Global radiation and sensible heat flux validation

In cooperation with the Meteorology and Air Quality Group of Wageningen University, three field experiments have been undertaken in Spain during 1999. The location of the experimental sites is shown in figure 1. At each location a Large Aperture Scintillometer (LAS) has been installed together with additional Kipp en Zonen CM11 solarimeters. The LAS measures the convective sensible heat flux. The solarimeters provide information on global radiation. The measurements of both instruments have been averaged tot daily values. In figures 2-5, these values are compared with the corresponding METEOSAT derived data, which were extracted from our image products. Results are shown for Lleida and Tomelloso. Due to power supply problems, data for Bajadoz  were too limited field to be presented here.
